Jennifer Hunter
http://www.jenniferhunter.com/
Jennifer Hunter began practicing Wicca on her own at age 16, before being a teen Witch was cool. She founded SUNY New Paltz’s first Pagan student organization, which exists to this day. She spent a couple of years in a coven, and was initiated first-degree Protean, but ultimately has followed a self-crafted path. She earned a BA in English from Montclair State University, which qualified her to work in bookstores for a few years. She wrote her first book, 21st Century Wicca: A Young Witch’s Guide to Living a Magical Life, at age 25. Born without the shame gene, Jen has a playful and enthusiastic love of sexuality. This passion led to her next two books, Wicca for Lovers: Spells and Rituals for Romance and Seduction (2001) and Rites of Pleasure: Sexuality in Wicca and NeoPaganism (2004). The child of secular Jews, Jen developed an interest in Judaism when she married a man who had been raised Orthodox. Hence, Magickal Judaism: Connecting Jewish and Pagan Practice (July 2006). Today, she’s grateful for her belated Jewish education, but religiously she remains a Pagan and Witch. Of all the Gods, Jen is most drawn to Cernunnos/Herne, and identifies as his lover and priestess. She is self-employed as a writer and editor, and lives in the Boston area with her five-year-old daughter.
