Those of us kinky folk who love Harry Potter have reason to rejoice
at TammyJo Eckhart’s first full length novel featuring a medieval
dominant princess and her former runaway and thief slave who she must
both humble and seduce in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Thanks
to TammyJo’s delicious pen, we are treated to the adventures of Marelda
as she goes on both a harsh emotional and physical journey to recover
her family’s treasures. How will she go about using her magic to
vanquish her foes while still dealing with a recalcitrant slave? How
will she seduce this beautiful man even while keeping him from running
away at every opportunity? How much will we enjoy the scenes of her
punishing him for attempting to run away? Very much so I venture to say.
What is particularly enjoyable about TammyJo’s writing is that her
characters and stories are both magical in that we can escape into both
a fantasy of adventure and escape, as well as one of erotic domination
and submission. And yet, her characters are whole people, with strengths
and weaknesses and a very real relationship with one another. I
particularly loved Marelda as she struggled with her new slave Dolan who
has come to her not of his own will, and has to learn to be a slave in
every sense of the word. Like many real people he has fears that come
out of his earlier life, and how Marelda deals with these fears show her
to be a thoughtful and caring human being, the kind of Dominant that so
many of us fantasize about in our private moments. I can only imagine
that TammyJo herself is this kind of Dominant for the depth with which
she imbues her characters. So, if we cannot have TammyJo herself to
dominate us, I can only suggest that you read her book and have her in
spirit.
