The Spring Break was fun even though several of the scheduled participants failed to show up. The afternoon swimming, schmoozing, and evening dinner at the Panda House in Hanover was enjoyable. We also had a play party after dinner in one of the motel rooms.

Scene Report from London

Weekend before last I spent a long weekend in London. Was trying to find my sub. Did not think I would so I made plans to make the best of it if not. Thus. I had made arrangements to call an online fiend when I got in. Did so. We spent Saturday afternoon together doing the shops and seeing what was going on at the clubs. Nothing at all happening on Saturday I could be in on with out prior arrangements. So the Sunday evening at The Gate was the only thing going that was open. Now that I have met people, talked to them nice etc. I will be able to get into other events, invited to some anytime I am in town now. First weekend the best. Had they known before hand etc.

London is full of good kink and with Soho so over priced I would only tell you to stop by the shops there for a good look and buy over the net when you get home.

There are a number of clubs that have kink as a theme but most are just that, theme. there is however a place called The Gate, small place over a bar south of the river but only a block from a subway stop so very easy to get to. Run by Anna and her Dom the Sunday I was there was NOT a typical day. Mothers Day in the UK. a Sunday too. They had a small fetish fair in the afternoon that was lightly attended so I was able to really talk to the vendors and to people looking around that I thought would be interesting. This way I met a wonderful couple that told me more about the local scene. They belong to two groups that meet in homes. mostly larger estates out side of town and by the end of the evening I was told to try to be back some time the first week of the month and they would be happy to arrange for me to go with them to one or more of the events.

The evening upstairs in the dungeon was a bust due to the day and the mix of people that showed. How ever the potential was there. The large toys to use. crosses, wheel, spanking benches, table with leg supports heavy duty chain drive suspension, a working rack, a loft with a mattress a small room in back with an elevated bed. oh yes. and what I was told by regulars that the evening was just not right. very few "Moms" were able to be free so there was a lack of couples and free female hetros there. The host and his sub did provide a bit of a show to try to get things started for the few that were there however. first time I have seen weight hung onto the curved barbell piercing of the labia,,, and a brass fire ball hung there, fire lit in it and poor Anna had to keep it swinging for dear life as the flame burned higher and higher. if she had any hair growing out it was singed off when she lost control for just a second and it slowed down a lot under her.

Well that about does it. hint when in Soho. do not spend your money in any of the back ally shops. there is a nice book store on a corner with good stuff on the way down to the basement but most are available. state side for less. some really nice shops that have large glass windows have good things I have not seen here, rhinestone cuffs with chains to the matching collar and such. They are not in the little allays.

So, maybe back in London late this month. Depends on two models I have been working at shooting there. If I do go I will be contacting people I met at The Gate as well as stopping in at The Gate for a bit of fun. Take care, I have new toys I have never seen here from the fetish fair. *grin*

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT SCREENING:

Several people have asked about the very different screening procedures that each BDSM group has.

For example, the UVMunch allows anyone to come because it's in a public place, so there is a low risk of problems.

Rose & Thorn is in the middle with phone-screenings because while we don't have play at our events, there are demos and other events happening that can be considered problematical by authorities, even though they are completely legal and consensual. It was precisely because of the issues surrounding these problems that R&T decided not to allow any play at our events. We just plain aren't willing to take the risk with people we don't know.

On the higher end, PENE requires several face-to-face meetings before inviting anyone to a play party. There are several reasons for this. The biggest one is that they are taking a big risk, both legally and personally, in having a play party in their home - so serious screening is absolutely necessary. A pain maybe, but a fact of life to protect themselves. In addition, not only are their parties hugely popular, but there are, as always, too may single men to allow everyone.

So… please be patient in getting information on the screening procedures for each group, and understand that they are doing it for your protection as well as theirs.

The WMPE meets twice each and every month. A non-fetish meeting is held the first Wednesday of every month at the Hu Ke Lau restaurant in Chicopee, Massachusetts beginning at 6:30 PM. There is no charge for attendance at the Massachusetts meetings.
