SENSUOUS SADIE: You are known as the
"latex guru" and in fact you do demos on use of latex. What
are the kinds of demonstrations that you do?
LORD LATEX: "I go all ‘round the Northeast doing demos on latex,
breath play, and bondage related topics. Latex is my favorite thing as
you can imagine!
Sadie: How did you get involved in this particular interest? What is
it about latex that does it for you?
Latex: "Well, lets see, I have been into latex since I was a kid.
From the time I put the first rubber dive suit on GI Joe and fantasized
about how wonderful it would be to be all dressed in that tight fitting
rubber suit. Latex is a kink all by itself. Many think it is about the
way it looks. They are so wrong! It is all about the feel. Yes, its my
little kink and like many of us I later found the Internet. I then met
many like minded people just like me and came to understand all about my
total obsession with this material. It just took off from there. I read
all there was to read about this wonderful feeling. Surfed the net for
many hours to seek more knowledge and new contacts. Found a few and
converted a few."
Sadie: What are some of the safety issues around latex, and in
particular in "total enclosure?"
Latex: "Total enclosure is like no other form of extreme play I can
think of. Because total enclosure can involve masks that can impair or
change the way we breath, it is best to some basic knowledge about
breath play."
Sadie: Your favorite websites include slinky skin (www.slinkyskin.com/Main.htm
), a latex oriented site. Beyond the obvious attraction, is there
anything special about these sites that you'd like to share with our
readers?
Latex: "The sites that I recommend to everyone are filled with
latex toys and garments. They are also the best quality available and
considering the vast number of fetish site now online, it is good to
know what sites offer the best value."
Sadie: You have an interest in "extreme bondage." can you
tell me what this entails?
Latex: "Tight, all covering, and extremely limiting. Total control
of the human body, right down to the air that is allowed to be taken in.
That is extreme to me!"
Sadie: You are the "safety in BDSM" specialist for the BDSM
news. (http://www.bdsmnews.info/).
What attracted you to this particular role? What kinds of articles will
you be working on?
Latex: "I am going to take questions from the readers and then pass
along the best recommendation based on my experience and that of my
close friends.
"I was attracted to this role by my good friend Lord Battista. He
thought it would be a great addition to the community to have someone
from the medical community in this role. I think anyone with some
experience and good common sense can do the same, but I am glad to help
out."
Sadie: How did you get involved in this project? What are your hopes
for it in the next year?
Latex: "LB asked me to get involved and I am more than glad to do
so. My hopes for the year would be to have a more unified BDSM community
in the Albany area."
Sadie: You discovered your love for bondage at eight years old. What
was the experience that moved you so?
Latex: "Actually it was Rubber that I discovered at 8 years p;d/ It
was later, let's say early adolescence that bondage came into my
life."
Sadie: How did your BDSM orientation develop from that time?
Latex: "I was lucky. A lady came into my life with a toy bag and
the rest is history."
Sadie: Did your practice and your BDSM orientation change
significantly since you started in the scene?
Latex: "Oh yes! Like many, my interests are much more refined than
they were even six years ago."
Sadie: How would you describe your philosophical approach to BDSM?
Latex: "I would say the popular response is safe, sane, and
consensual, but I also think it should be fun and with the right person
intimate."
Sadie: Do you integrate spirituality into your practice? If so, how?
Latex: "As a general rule, BDSM is more a sport to me and not as
spiritual as it is a craft."
Sadie: You are a member of APeX, one of Albany’s BDSM groups. What
do you feel are some of the best things that they offer the community?
Are you involved on an organizational level?
Latex: "I am not involved in the organization of APeX but like to
help them out when they ask. They are a fine group and are very well
organized. Their leaders Sir Ron and Mayafire are fun loving people and
very knowledgeable."
Sadie: Are you involved with any other BDSM groups?
Latex: "I am a member of WMPE (Western Massachusetts Power
Exchange) and play in Connecticut at LaChateau from time to time."
Sadie: You write "stop the rumors! Stop the bullshit!"
considering the politicking that goes on in BDSM groups I can sure guess
what you're talking about. Is that what you're referring to, or is it
more personal?
Latex: "I think anytime you get a large group of people that are
involved in a lifestyle that centers on control, you are going to get a
few problems. Because people are human and going to disagree from time
to time, they need to take care of it one-on-one in private like adults.
Not post it on a board, say a lot of nasty things about someone and then
start a campaign of rumors. I find this a waste of time and a sure way
to weaken our community."
Sadie: You say "the one who dies with the most toys, wins!"
now we all know it's a fact that being into toys is a common guy type
thing. What's it about for you?
Latex: "It is simple! Having the new, best, and funniest toys on
the block is what it is all about. Let me zip you in my latex vac bed
and I will show you!
Sadie: You are in a long-term relationship. Can you tell me a little
bit about how you work your relationship boundaries so that you are able
to play with other people?
Latex: "Three simple words: trust, trust, and trust! I am in love
with my wife, but I also like to play with other people."
Sadie: You're looking for a "rubber slut." can you expand
on that?
Latex: "Someone who loves latex as much as I do and will do what
ever I want."
Sadie: You describe yourself as a "talented switch." what
does this mean? (as opposed to a tedious and boring switch?)
Latex: "Well, its like this, some people don't get the whole switch
thing at all. Some say they are subs that cannot admit they are
submissive. I contend that depending on the dynamics of any two people
there are bound to be variations of the ‘who's in control thing.’ I
am for the most part a top. I bottom to very few women and never to a
man. Doing that with balance and with any quality is a talent."
Sadie: You have a bit of a pet peeve with people who do more Cyber
than Real Time in the scene. Why does this bother you so?
Latex: "Its not so much that it bothers me as much as I constantly
get people, mostly gay men, wanting me to dominate them from a key board
when I come online. They want to be my slave from 2000 miles away
through a phone line, but don't have a clue what a commitment or
responsibility that is. They are always saying they are experienced, but
just haven't found the right person to try real time with yet. That just
confuses me!"
Sadie: Are your dogs Samantha and Coco dominant or submissive?
Latex: "LOL Well Lady Samantha is the alpha dog and defiantly in
charge. Coco is just pleasantly confused most of the time."
Sadie: Is there anything else you'd like to share with our readers?
Latex: "I believe in a strong BDSM community. History has proven
that there are people that will try to infringe on our right to be free.
Resent infringements on that right are all around us. Just look at
Attleboro, Massachusetts. for an example. We must stand together as a
community and be strong! It is our best and only way to survive. Praying
for peace."
Sadie: Thank you very much for talking to me!
