Painting of Sensuous Sadie
 by Marquis de Panasewicz

About this Portrait

About this Painting - from Sadie:

I have always wanted a nude portrait of myself and so I asked the Marquis de Panasewicz to draw one of me. This is the one and only nude of me. While it looks as real as a photograph, it is in fact a painting, albeit a computer generated one..

Although I have plenty of photographs of myself, they tend to show my naturally dominant day-to-day disposition rather than my submissive nature, which is generally evident only in the bedroom. Because of this, I wanted a portrait that expressed my submissive side. Even though I am not Gorean, I requested that the Marquis paint me in this classic Gorean slave pose because it makes me feel deeply submissive.

I love that he gave me a mischievous smile because anyone who knows me knows that I'm not terribly obedient. I also asked him to include a snake because their sensual and sexual power entrances me. In this painting, the red snake acts as my Dominant.

Do You Really Look Like This?
One of the questions that readers ask me is if I actually look like the photos and paintings of me. The answer is that yes, I do look like this portrait. Although I do appear somewhat slimmer than in real life, I'd say that the overall proportions and details are correct. I specifically asked the Marquis to be true to the fact that I am a plus sized gal. The great peacemaker Ghandi told us to: "be the change you want to see in the world" and this is my way of saying that my body, and all bodies are beautiful just as they are. That being said, all art is an interpretation of reality and this particular painting is the Marquis' interpretation of what he sees in me.

Why Don't You Pose Nude More Often?
The other question I hear has to do with why don't I do photography of myself in the nude, or even partially nude. I could write a whole column on this topic, but the short version is this. I take my profession as writer very seriously, as I do the all the artwork on my website. I don't have nude photos of myself taken, nor do I feature any artwork or photography that might edge over into what might be considered pornography. I want to be seen as a writer first, and a sexuality writer second. Having a painting done puts the nude in the realm of "art" as opposed to being just another cheesecake shot. It's a fine line I know, but one I'm committed to.

Notes from the Marquis on this painting

What I try to do is draw the viewer in as a participant, rather than just a spectator. The viewer wants to look closer, but the menacing snake forbids. It's a concert of subject, viewer, spectator, creation as a dance of the mind, a concert. I want the artwork to take on a life of it's own, to breathe its emotion. The spectator has his or her own dark imaginings as well.

As a submissive, you should be exposed. The offering is presented - naked - vulnerable to the menace of the creatures. You have no protection, no modest covering, exposed to the amusement of they, who put you into the snake's lair, the pit. This is how the piece unfolds; and your feeling embarrassment, vulnerable to the spectator's eyes, which roam over your body, your breasts, thighs, the lust of the spectator is kindled. You are laid bare before the creatures and the spectator.

The red snake is intended menace the viewer. The concept is to have you as an offering to the snake. Like Androcles, your charm has beguiled the creature, and thus they are tamed, protecting, and menacing any who dare approach their pet. The blue snake is an Anaconda, the largest (disputed among two breeds), of the snakes. It's reputation is awesome as it can take down a cape buffalo or a cayman, and has been known to eat a full-grown human. It rests upon your thigh in admiration; it's in love with you. Snakes are not known for their emotions, so  this is a rare depiction, a snake adoring its pet.

Compliments on the Painting

Yum...

I am nearly breathless at the beauty of your portrait. Such voluptuous majesty. The artist must know you, because he has captured your very essence as the Goddess of Sensuality.

You are a contemporary Venus, so lush, proud and exquisite. Thank you so much for sharing this portrait of yourself with others in the Community.

The portrait is fabulous!  I find it fascinating to look at; your hair, the pose, your face, the vulnerability, your incredible breasts (awe-inspiring), your curviness.  Reminiscent of an ancient earth goddess combined with the colors of computer art.  And your bravery~ wow.

I love your nude photo. Your breasts, in particular, look lush and inviting.

Saw your painting! For some period my thoughts stopped. Great fantasy, mixing both real & unreal into a visual masterpiece. Draws the eye to many different places for many diverse thoughts. Sadie. I delight in your sharing this surprise. Nude. Big difference between "nude" & "naked." Your selection of artist is wise. You are a bright light of clarity, Sadie. A positive, formidable force!
