I have enjoyed your columns and found them to be
insightful and pleasurable to read. Some time ago I read your book which
felt like you and I shared the same journey. I talked about and shared
it with several people because you understand the feeling of utopia from
sensual play. We could have some interesting conversation and I know
become respected friends. I was just thinking about you the other day, listening
to a Meatloaf CD in the car actually, thinking about what you said about
how formative Paradise by the Dashboard Light was for many of us in our
earlier stages of development, how that set out what sex was. I loved
that song as a teenager, its rebellious desire and eagerness. And yet,
as you point out, there is so much more to discover. I loved these kind
of insights in your book, by the way. It is refreshing to see someone
talk about sexuality in a way that is both serious and lighthearted. I
think you did a great job of balancing that.
Your
book is amazing. I started it yesterday morning and I could not put
it down before I was done. I never felt that close to an author and I
read a lot of books. Your outlook on body image, protocol, play parties,
and dating in the BDSM scene is refreshing. You have an awesome sense of
humor that I can relate to so much and in lots of ways you
made me feel better about myself. I felt like you were in my life as I
am an outspoken, very dominant submissive. I
just finished your new book and oh my God it was wonderful. Thank you
for opening yourself to others through your writing. I bought your book "It's not
about the whip." I loved it and have been recommending it to folks
of all sizes. Kudos to you and thanks for weighing in with some great
insight and some of your experiences that I'm sure is a great help to
the community. Thank you for the information
that I have read from your site. I learned alot from small
bits I read from your book. I have always wanted to better understand
what I felt, wanted and needed but unsure how to put it in words. You
helped me understand a few things. My boyfriend read your book this week and it's renewed
his interest in D/s in a big way. As a former seminary student, he's
extremely interested in the spiritual side of BDSM. I just thought you
might like to know that your writing has had a powerful effect on both
of us. BUY THE DAMN BOOK PEOPLE!! If you can read you won’t
regret it. If you can’t read other people will still be impressed to
see it in your bookcase. I finished "It's Not About the Whip." Well,
perhaps you're only half full of hooey, or is that half empty? I'm
jerking your chain just to prepare you for ego overinflation. In
reality, you go girl! These are some of the best essays I've seen in the
community. I hope we have the chance to meet soon - we've so much to
talk about. I just wanted to tell you that I received a copy of
your book from Dex, and I was very impressed. Not only was it a “good
read,” but you and I agree on many things and that always makes me
like someone. I thought it was well-written and entertaining. I’ll
certainly be reading more of your work. I ordered Sensuous Sadie's new book, "It's Not
About the Whip," as soon as it was announced that it was in
print. I have had a hard time putting it down. She speaks to me when she
shares her experience, strength and hope. ( I am a novice and just
recently coming out re my submissive nature). Sadie's spiritual
light shines on every page and gives me hope that I too can
navigate these sometimes frightening waters. Her courage and
ability to convey her message of love in BDSM is indeed a
spiritual work of the heart. It touches me. Thanks Sadie. God
Bless You in all you do...hugs I received your book in the mail today and I am
absolutely thrilled to have it. Going to go lay down and curl up with
it. You are an excellent writer and a very beautiful lady as well. I
have read a couple of chapters already and what you have to say seems to
fit with my feelings and who I am, so I am sure I will get further
along my spiritual path with it. I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy
of Sadie's book and I found it a great read. Sadie writes about her
experiences in the scene on a very human level. Her approach is
refreshingly different from "how to" tomes on the market in
that she writes about her feelings about all aspects of the scene; being
Dom, being sub, being switch, and dating, playing, and relating in
general. You feel you'll know Sadie when you're done reading her book. With
her generous spirit and questing intelligence, Sadie isn’t satisfied
merely to have been there and done that – she needs to find out what
it all means. Her insights will help speed many others along on their
own journeys toward sexual self-revelation.
