I have  enjoyed your columns and found them to be insightful and pleasurable to read. Some time ago I read your book which felt like you and I shared the same journey. I talked about and shared it with several people because you understand the feeling of utopia from sensual play. We could have some interesting conversation and I know become respected friends.
~ Kathy

I was just thinking about you the other day, listening to a Meatloaf CD in the car actually, thinking about what you said about how formative Paradise by the Dashboard Light was for many of us in our earlier stages of development, how that set out what sex was. I loved that song as a teenager, its rebellious desire and eagerness. And yet, as you point out, there is so much more to discover. I loved these kind of insights in your book, by the way. It is refreshing to see someone talk about sexuality in a way that is both serious and lighthearted. I think you did a great job of balancing that.

Your book is amazing. I started it yesterday morning and I could not put it down before I was done. I never felt that close to an author and I read a lot of books. Your outlook on body image, protocol, play parties, and dating in the BDSM scene is refreshing. You have an awesome sense of humor that I can relate to so much and in lots of ways you made me feel better about myself. I felt like you were in my life as I am an outspoken, very dominant submissive.

I just finished your new book and oh my God it was wonderful. Thank you for opening yourself to others through your writing.

I bought your book "It's not about the whip." I loved it and have been recommending it to folks of all sizes. Kudos to you and thanks for weighing in with some great insight and some of your experiences that I'm sure is a great help to the community.
~ Rae

Thank you for the information that I have read from your site. I learned alot from small bits I read from your book. I have always wanted to better understand what I felt, wanted and needed but unsure how to put it in words. You helped me understand a few things.
~ Summer

My boyfriend read your book this week and it's renewed his interest in D/s in a big way. As a former seminary student, he's extremely interested in the spiritual side of BDSM. I just thought you might like to know that your writing has had a powerful effect on both of us.
~ Anne Tourney, Erotica Author (read one of her stories)

BUY THE DAMN BOOK PEOPLE!! If you can read you won’t regret it. If you can’t read other people will still be impressed to see it in your bookcase.
~ Carter Stevens, Editor of the S&M News

I finished "It's Not About the Whip." Well, perhaps you're only half full of hooey, or is that half empty? I'm jerking your chain just to prepare you for ego overinflation. In reality, you go girl! These are some of the best essays I've seen in the community. I hope we have the chance to meet soon - we've so much to talk about.

I just wanted to tell you that I received a copy of your book from Dex, and I was very impressed. Not only was it a “good read,” but you and I agree on many things and that always makes me like someone. I thought it was well-written and entertaining. I’ll certainly be reading more of your work.
~ Nikki

I ordered Sensuous Sadie's new book, "It's Not About  the Whip," as soon as it was announced that it was in print. I have had a hard time putting it down. She speaks to me when she  shares her experience, strength and hope. ( I am a novice and just  recently coming out re my submissive nature). Sadie's spiritual  light shines on every page and gives me hope that I too can navigate  these sometimes frightening waters. Her courage and ability to  convey her message of love in BDSM is indeed a spiritual work of the  heart. It touches me. Thanks Sadie. God Bless You in all you  do...hugs

I received your book in the mail today and I am absolutely thrilled to have it. Going to go lay down and curl up with it. You are an excellent writer and a very beautiful lady as well. I have read a couple of chapters already and what you have to say seems to fit with my feelings and who I am, so I am sure I will get further along my spiritual path with it.
~ Hella

I had the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Sadie's book and I found it a great read. Sadie writes about her experiences in the scene on a very human level. Her approach is refreshingly different from "how to" tomes on the market in that she writes about her feelings about all aspects of the scene; being Dom, being sub, being switch, and dating, playing, and relating in general. You feel you'll know Sadie when you're done reading her book.
~ Sarah

With her generous spirit and questing intelligence, Sadie isn’t satisfied merely to have been there and done that – she needs to find out what it all means. Her insights will help speed many others along on their own journeys toward sexual self-revelation.
~ Gary Switch, Contributing Editor, Prometheus

It’s very educating to get into Sadie’s mind through her writings. She definitely has a unique and refreshing view on what we do.
~ Sir Victor, Leader of DomSubFriends of New York City

Sadie’s down-to-earth lifestyle observations will have experienced players nodding their heads, and provide the beginner with an invaluable guide to the multi-faceted world of D/s-BDSM. Her explorations of the spirituality of kink and her willingness to share her personal experiences add substance and sizzle to this collection of essays.
~ Elizabeth, Board Member of Rose & Thorn of Vermont

Sensuous Sadie’s website not only offers the best collection of writings on the web examining the intersection of the spirit and sadoerotic, but it is also simply one of the most illuminating collections of SM writings period. Think of it as a continuation of the essays of Mark Thompson’s “Leatherfolk” tailored to the cyber age and the new millennium. Simply Wonderful!
~ Chris M, writer and Emeritus Board Member of Black Rose, Washington DC

It is evident that Sadie’s writing comes from the heart of someone in the D/s lifestyle. It’s nice for a change to have someone with experience in what they write.
~ Angel Babee, Leader of Sisters in Submission

Sadie’s scene writings are fresh, witty and observant.
~ Mayafire, Co-Leader of Albany Power Exchange (APeX), of New York
Sadie writes with compassion and conviction about the complexities of BDSM. Her writing has given voice to the needs and dreams of our community.
~ Jonathan, Executive Director of Rose & Thorn of Vermont

Even though I read Sadie’s columns on House Mermaid as they emerged, a strange thing happened when I edited the book for her; I found I could not put the book down. Sadie has the ability to translate her experiences into writing, a rare gift.
~ Dex, Master of House Mermaid

Your writing voice is clear without being strident and the breezy tone helps keep the “sturm und drang” out of what is surely a subject filled with a bit too much of that. Most of what I read on the web is so hopelessly cloying, overdone or just plain bad, so this a refreshing counterpoint.
~ Anne Marie Delaney

Sadie analyzes the male/female demographics of BDSM and provides the reader with valuable advice as to how to make them work for you.
~ Ed, Leader of White Mountains Different Strokes of New Hampshire

Sensuous Sadie is an exceptional writer, with a zest for the lifestyle few have.
~ Lady Bleu, Editor of DomSubLifestyle Online

I find Sensuous Sadie’s writing style an easy to read and refreshing view of the BDSM lifestyle from a real time player. She is a great resource with her perspective from both the top and the bottom.
~ Lord Battista, Erotic Power Exchange Dominion

Sadie is possibly the most vibrant and informed individual on the internet today. She never sleeps due to a surgically implanted device that allows her to labor tirelessly on her newsletter, her website, her very fascinating interviews, her BDSM writers Yahoo group, her leadership of Rose & Thorn, and very likely 30 or 40 more BDSM related activities I haven’t yet run across. I respect her for her strong opinions, and for being able to convey them without diminishing the validity of other ideas.
~ yielding, BDSM Columnist

Intriguing, Interesting, Insightful, Poignant and Enlightening. A thought provoking style that will make you want to read it more then once.
~ Charlie, Associate Editor of the BDSM News

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I comment on Sensuous Sadie’s work. Having featured her work on the BDSM Resource Center has seen a dynamic increase in positive comments on the fresh views that she shares. Sadie brings her style to the written word and her style is just that, style and delightfully Sadie. If you are some of the fortunate people that have had access to Sensuous Sadie’s literary contributions then you will feast in this compilation of her work. If you have not had that opportunity then you are in for a sumptuous treat! Her slant reflects the lifestyle, on both a personal and community level, in a way that gives food for thought as well as makes you smile.
